Main research fields include: the history of Chinese vocabulary and grammar; Buddhist Chinese. Major publications include: Study on Modal Verb in Mahasangha-vinaya; Study on the Evolution of Chinese Grammar from Pre-Qin to the Medieval Period; A Brief Introduction to the Study of Grammar in Chinese Translation of Buddhist Sutras.
