Benoît Vermander is Professor and doctoral advisor in the School of Philosophy of Fudan University as well as the director of the Xu-Ricci Dialogue Institute in the same School. His research focuses on the social and religious changes of the Yi people in Liangshan, the evolution of sacred space and sacred concepts in urban environments, cross-cultural theology, the hermeneutic of Chinese classics in the perspective of promoting dialogue among different wisdom traditions, and the relevance of rituals in different groups in today's society. Among his numerous publications are Shanghai Sacred: The Religious Landscape of a Global City (2018) , Que cette demeure est donc fragile ! De Chine, penser en pandémie (2020), L’Homme et le grain (2021) .
