Chen Xianhong serves as a counselor for the Wuhan Municipal Government and is an honored member of the Hubei Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). She holds the prestigious title of "Huazhong Distinguished Scholar" and serves as a specially appointed professor, second-rank professor, and doctoral supervisor at the School of Journalism and Information Communication, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). She is the founding director of the China Story Creativity and Communication Research Institute (a joint initiative between the China International Publishing Group and HUST) and vice president of the Chinese Association for History of Journalism and Mass Communication. Furthermore, she chaired the Public Relations Professional Committee of the association for its inaugural and second terms. Her research encompasses international communication of Chinese stories, public relations and strategic communication, new media and brand communication, among various other areas. She has spearheaded one major bidding project under the Ministry of, second-rank professor, and doctoral supervisor at the School of Journalism and Information Communication, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). Education's Key Research Initiatives, two National Social Science Fund projects, and approximately 20 provincial and ministerial-level commissioned research projects. Having published over 100 academic papers and authored more than 20 books and textbooks, her notable works include The Ecology of Public Relations , The Imagination of Public Relations: Perspectives, Theories, and Methods , and Meta-Narrative Communication Strategies for Telling China's Stories Well . Her translated works include Handbook of Strategic Communication  and Excellence in Communication . She is recognized as a highly cited author in the research fields of 'telling China's stories well' and 'public relations', having made significant scholarly contributions to these disciplines.
