Liang Hai is an Associate Professor at the School of Journalism and Communication, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He also serves as Associate Director of the Computational Social Science Laboratory in the Faculty of Social Science and Associate Director of the Centre for Demographic Studies in the Department of Sociology. Additionally, he is a core member of the Internet Mining Lab at City University of Hong Kong (CityU). He was awarded the Young Researcher Award by The CUHK for his academic achievements. His primary research interests include computational social science, political communication, and digital public health. His work has been published in top-tier journals in the field of communication, such as Communication Research, Human Communication Research , and Journal of Communication . He is currently Associate Editor of Communication & Society  and serves on the editorial boards of Communication Theory, Human Communication Research, Journal of Communication , and Computational Communication Research .
