Prof. Dr. Giray Fidan is a Turkish Sinologist, translator and scholar specializing in Chinese history and Turkish-Chinese relations. Currently a Full Professor at Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, he serves as Head of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature and the Department of Eastern Languages and Literatures.

His contributions to cultural exchange were recognized through two major honors: selection as one of the “Top 10 Outstanding Contributing Scholars” by theWorld Sinology Center at Beijing Language and Culture University in 2024, and receipt of the Young Achievement Award at the 10th Chinese Book Special Contribution Award ceremony.

His translation work has been particularly impactful in bringing Chinese and Turkishcultures,introducing seminal Chinese classics to Turkish readership. Notable translations under his pen include Sun Wu's The Art of War (《孙子兵法》) , Confucius' The Analects of Confucius (《论语》) and Lao She' s Cat Country (老舍《猫城记》).
