Shuai Li is currently a Professor of Chinesein the Department of World Languages and Cultures at ‌Georgia State University, where he also serves as the Director of Undergraduate Studies, and Coordinator of Chinese Program. He holds editorial roles as the Editor-in-Chief of Chinese as a Second Language and is a member of the AP Chinese Development Committee at the College Board. In 2023, he has elected as President of the Chinese Language Teachers Association, USA (CLTA).

His primary research interests include Chinese as a second language acquisition, interlanguage pragmatics, large language model applications, and specialized Chinese language pedagogy. His representative publications include Classroom Research on Chinese as a Second Language (Routledge, 2019) and Engaging Language Learners through Technology Integration: Theories, Applications, and Outcomes (IGI Global, 2014). His research has been published in leading SSCI-indexed journals, including Language Learning and The Modern Language Journal.
