Qiu Zeqi is a professor and doctoral supervisor in the Department of Sociology at Peking University (PKU), where he also serves as the director of the Center for Chinese Social and Development Research and the Center for Digital Governance Research. He holds distinguished academic titles including Chang Jiang Scholar Chair Professor (appointed by the Ministry of Education) and PKU Boya Distinguished Professor. Recognized for his scholarly contributions, he was selected for the Ministry of Education’s New Century Excellent Talents Support Program in 2007 and is a recipient of the State Council Special Government Allowance.  

His primary research areas encompass digital society and governance, technology application and social transformation, organizational sociology and social surveys and research methodologies. He has led or participated in over 10 national-level research projects, including those funded by the National Social Science Fund, National Natural Science Foundation of China, and Key Research Base Projects in Humanities and Social Sciences under the Ministry of Education. He has authored more than 100 academic papers in domestic and international journals.
