ZHU Wenhui holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Auckland (UOA), New Zealand, and a Master's degree in Chinese Linguistics from Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU). She is currently a lecturer at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). Her main research area is linguistics, with a focus on language acquisition. She has led several major research projects, including the 2025 General Project of the Guangdong Social Science Planning Fund: A Neurolinguistic Study on Asymmetries in Phonetic Perception in International Chinese Education , and the 2022 project funded by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, Ministry of Education: A Study on the Perceptual Weighting of Mandarin Vowels by Japanese and Korean Learners.   Her representative publication is Language-dependent Cue Weighting in Distinctive Feature: Evidence from the Perception of Chinese High Vowels by Native English Speakers.
