Xiang Jing holds a Ph.D. in History from Peking University (PKU)and is currently the Director of the Digital Historiography Research Center at University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (UCASS), an associate professor in the School of History, and a visiting scholar at Harvard University. Her research areas include Ming Dynasty history and local social history. In recent years, her research interests have focused on rural history and digital humanities during the Song and Ming dynasties. She has presided over multiple research projects, including those funded by the Humanities and Social Sciences Fund of the Ministry of Education, the Beijing Youth Talent Plan, major university-level projects at University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and projects from humanities laboratories. She has published more than ten academic papers in journals such as  Guangming Daily  and  Ancient Civilizations .
