Phanata, Stephanie is currently a Ph.D. candidate in International Chinese Education at East China Normal University and a lecturer in the Chinese Department at Universitas Sebelas Maret. She previously served as the Indonesian Director of the Confucius Institute at Universitas Sebelas Maret.

Main research areas: Focusing on the development of international Chinese education, the "Belt and Road" initiative, Confucius Institutes, training of Chinese language teachers, and ontological research in second language acquisition.
