LI Yi holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore and is currently a pioneering postdoctoral researcher at the School of Liberal Arts, Renmin University of China (RUC). His main research areas include eearly history of Chinese cinema, media theory, and digital humanities. He has published multiple articles in core academic journals such as Journal of Beijing Film Academy , China Television , and Film Review . In addition, he has translated and published   Backstage Stories from the Fashion Show: An Insider's View of the Real Fashion World  and Thinking Through Fashion: A Guide to Key Theorists.
