Bao Liang is the Deputy Director of the Office of International Affairs at Zhejiang Normal University (ZJNU), a Master’s Supervisor, and a member of the International Society for Chinese Language Teaching (ISCLT). He also serves as a Youth Expert Committee member of the World Sinology Conference Council and an editor of the Journal of International Chinese Education .
With extensive experience in international Chinese language education management, Bao Liang served as a project officer at the Confucius Institute Headquarters/Chinese Language Council International (Hanban) from 2013 to 2016. In this role, he was responsible for selecting state-sponsored Chinese language teachers and volunteers, and organized over 50 training events and conferences related to international Chinese education. He has led four research projects, including an annual general project international Chinese education under the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) of China’s Ministry of Education, one mid-career research grant from ISCLT, and one philosophy and social sciences project in Zhejiang Province. Additionally, he has participated in more than ten major, key, and general projects funded by the National Social Science Fund of China. His policy advisory reports have been adopted multiple times by China’s Ministry of Education and Zhejiang provincial authorities. He has also authored and published three books on Chinese language education in Africa.
