Zhu Feng is the Professor and Dean of the Soledad Institute at the Overseas Education College and International Education College of Fujian Normal University, a Ph.D. supervisor, and a member of the 13th Fujian Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). He leads the Philippine Studies Center and the Center for the History of Sino-Foreign Relations at Fujian Normal University. His research areas include overseas Sinology, Southeast Asian Chinese diaspora, and international Chinese language education in Fujian. He has led three National Social Science Fund projects, including A Study of Religious Beliefs among Overseas Chinese: A Comparative Study of Contemporary Southeast Asian Chinese Christianity and Folk Beliefs, and two provincial- and ministerial-level projects, such as Empowering Collaboration through Data: A Survey on the Basic Situation of International Chinese Language Education in Fujian Province.
His representative monograph is Christianity and Cultural Adaptation among Overseas Chinese: Case Studies of Modern Southeast Asian Chinese Immigrant Communities. A representative paper is Overseas Affairs and Diplomacy: The Administration and Interaction of American Expatriates in China by US Envoys to China before and after the Boxer Rebellion.
