Global Ethic in the Hong Kong Education Circle
A Global Ethic which is promoted by Professor Han Küng is that religions of the world can make a contribution to the peace of humankind only if they reflect on those elements of an ethic which they already have in common. Under the promotion of Global Ethic Foundation, the concept of Global Ethic and its value have received recognition in many countries around the world. Since the idea of a Global Ethic applies itself to the contribution of religions to the peace of the contemporary world, Hong Kong, as a society of cultural and religious plurality, will definitely be benefited from this concept if it is well adopted. Institute of Sino-Christian Studies (ISCS) in Hong Kong as a promoter of Christian Studies in China and overseas therefore attaches highly importance to the idea of Global Ethic. With the cooperation of Global Ethic Foundation, ISCS has commenced a project on promoting Global Ethic in Hong
Kong education circle since last year. The cooperation is quite comprehensive and diversified. ISCS has been cooperating with Hong Kong Education Bureau to develop textbooks for junior and senior secondary school in Hong Kong under the principle of Global Ethic, including introduction to the major world religions and their meaning in everyday’s life. The textbooks are to be put into use in the subject of Ethics and Religious Studies & Liberal Studies respectively. Apart from the promotion for the idea of Global Ethic in secondary education, ISCS also further develop Global Ethic in Higher Education in Hong Kong. A new project cooperated with The Hong Kong Institute of Education has just been launched this autumn to advocate Global Ethic in Hong Kong High Education circle. This report intends to introduce the relevant work on advocating Global Ethic done by ISCS and its promising prospect in the future.

全球伦理在香港教育界之推广
全球伦理的概念是由德国天主教思想家汉斯·昆(又译孔汉斯)所倡导的,认为世界上各个宗教在求同存异、彼此达到道德共识的基础上,可以为人类和平、政治经济文化等方面的公平作出卓越贡献的理念体系。在全球伦理基金会的不懈努力下,全球伦理的概念以及它的价值理念为世界上众多国家所接纳。由于全球伦理的概念致力于推动各个宗教对当代世界和平的贡献,香港作为一个宗教、文化多元化的社会如果能够恰切地采纳全球伦理的概念并加以推广,必将获益匪浅。鉴于此,作为汉语基督教文化的推广者,香港汉语基督教文化研究所十分重视全球伦理的概念,并致力于在香港教育界推广全球伦理概念。
自2008年始,汉语基督教文化研究所在德国全球伦理基金会的大力协助下,开始着手在香港教育界中推广全球伦理概念的工作。此项工作颇为综合性与多样化。汉语基督教文化研究所首先与香港教育局合作,发展针对香港初中以及高中的教材,分别置于“伦理与宗教科”以及“通识教育”两大学科内来推动全球伦理的概念。其内容分别包括在全球伦理的原则下,向初中学生介绍世界上的几大主要宗教以及向高中学生介绍全球伦理的原则在日常生活中的影响。除了在中学层面推动全球伦理的概念之外,汉语基督教文化研究所还致力于在高等教育的范围内推广全球伦理的概念,因此与香港教育学院达成合作共识,成功向香港政府申请到了优质教育基金,于2009年秋展开一系列合作项目,如发展教材、举行讲座及工作坊等来推动全球伦理的概念。本文旨在汇报总结汉语基督教文化研究所在香港教育界推动全球伦理之概念的相关工作及成果,以及未来发展之远景。
