Sino-Theology and Cultural Development: The Transcendental Dimensions of Cultural Discourse in China and its Global Interactions
Beginning with the Bible in Chinese–the ‘Sinofied-Bible’–through the adoption of classic Chinese vocabularies of transcendence for Christian scripture, since at least the beginning of the 20th century, Chinese philosophy has come to express a theological dimension. Going beyond translation of Western and Middle-Eastern classic texts, Sino-theology emerges to reflect a number of distinctive cultural characteristics which will be examined in this paper. These characteristics include:
1) the absorption of the Sinofied-Bible as a quasi-indigenous text which has theological vocabulary now recognizable throughout China, i.e., beyond the confines of Christian communal discourse;
2) the paralleling and competing definitions of classical theological language as used in the Sino-Bible and its interpreters;
3) the creation of new scripturally informed metaphor as an extension of the native Chinese interpretation of the Sinofied-Bible;
4) the transformation of philosophical anthropology in the Chinese context, i.e., the common human being as addressed by the divine voice and the ennoblement of the individual in terms of decision-making and responsible action;
5) sophisticated interpretations of biblical legal and moral texts;
6) the appearance of a natural sense of Chinese individuality and self-hood derived to a significant degree from the deep reading and Sino-theological exposition of the Sino-Bible;
7) the Sino-theological proclivity toward the doctrine of reconciliation and the prospects of unique Chinese influence upon global culture and civilization on account of the reception of this doctrine.

汉语神学与文化发展:论中国及其全球关系中文化话语之超验维度
自从中文圣经(汉化圣经)采纳中国古代典籍中的超验性词汇来翻译基督教经典后,至少从20世纪初开始,中国哲学的表述就开始具有了一种神学维度。除了翻译西方及中东经典文本之外,汉语神学也开始对自身一些独特的文化特征进行反思。本文将对这些特征进行考察,它们包括:

(5)对圣经律法及道德文本进行了深刻阐释;
(6)在中国出现个体与自我的自然意识,这很大程度上源于汉语神学对汉语圣经的深入阅读和独特阐释;
(7)汉语神学倾向于接受和解的教义,由此中国可能对全球文化与文明产生独特的影响。
