Professor in the School of Media and Journalism of Renmin University, and concurrently Executive Council Member of the 6th session of the Chinese Journalist’s Association; Chair of the National Council for Appraising Media Industries; Committee Member of the State Committee to Appraise Degree Awards in Media and Broadcasting; Vice-Chair of the Education Ministry Steering Committee on Journalism Studies teaching; Deputy Chair of the Chinese Association for Journalism Education; permanent overview contributor (Journalism and Broadcasting) for the Beijing Social Science Yearbook; Committee Member for the Academic Committee of the Research Centre of Information and Broadcasting at Fudan University and for the Research Centre of Media Development at Wuhan University. Principal interests include basic broadcasting theory; comparison of broadcasting systems; broadcasting law and ethics; elementary media education, and research into the teaching of news broadcasting.
