About the Conference
The World Conference on Sinology was co-sponsored by Confucius Institute Headquarters and Renmin University of China. It is an international academic organization uniting research communities, institutions and individual scholars. The “Conference” aims actively to support and take part in research into traditional sinology and modern China studies; to promote communication between mainstream Chinese academia and overseas sinology studies; and to investigate areas of mutual understanding, interpretation and inspiration between China and the rest of the world.
The “Conference” has been held biennially since 2007. Other occasional research and cultural exchange activities have also be conducted from time to time. The Executive Council of the “Conference” is established to enhance the quality, representativeness and impact of the “Conference,” serving as the highest deliberative assembly of the “Conference.” The Executive Council is composed of a maximum of 30 persons, including 1 Chairperson, 1 Vice-chairperson, 1 General Secretary.
