TONG, Shijun

Chancellor of NYU Shanghai; a scholar of Western and Chinese philosophy; served as an administrator and professor of philosophy at East China Normal University for over 20 years. Main research fields include epistemology, practical philosophy, social theory, etc. Major publications include The Problem of Modernity in the Dialogue between China and the West (2010); Critique and Practice: Essays on Jürgen Habermas Dialectics of Modernization: Habermas and the Chinese Discourse of Modernization (2007), etc.
