HAMAR, Imre

Vice-Rector for international affairs at Eötvös Loránd University (Budapest), Professor of Chinese studies at Eötvös Loránd University, and Director of the Institute of East Asian Studies. Main research fields include Chinese Buddhism, especially the History and philosophy of the Chinese Huayan Buddhist school. Major publications include: Kínai buddhizmus a középkorban - Cs’eng-kuan élete és filozófiája [Chinese Buddhism in the Middle Ages -- Chengguan's Life and Philosophy] (1998), Buddha megjelenése a világban [Buddha’s Manifestation in the World] (2002), A Religious Leader in the Tang: Chengguan’s Biography (2002), Reflecting Mirrors: Perspectives on Huayan Buddhism(2007).
