The Subjectivity of Sinological Studies

Although studies on subjectivity have prevailed since the Renaissance, the subjectivity of sinological studies differs greatly from the traditional approach.  Generally speaking, traditional subjectivity studies focus on the “self,” and try to achieve the goal of integrating the whole into the individual “self.” However, the subjectivity of sinological studies regards subjectivity as the object, and further concludes everything with this subjectivity. Here are three arguments:

The contents of sinological subjectivity are subjects that originated in China or are from Chinese peoples.

They are relevant interpretations or analyses based on the concept.

They are creations or deductions based on the concept.

According to what has been mentioned, sinology is a goal. But recently, it, with the loss of subjectivity, is the means for other purposes. This makes the value of sinology unbalanced and its goals aimless. In this paper, I will argue about the value and significance of sinological studies.
