The Second World Conference on Sinology holds Coordination Meeting

On September 3rd, 2009 the Preparatory Committee for the Second World Conference on Sinology planned to set up a meeting for coordination and work arrangements. On September 9th, the meeting was held in Mingde Building. Two vice presidents, Yang Huilin and Xue Huanbai, together with chief leaders from administrative offices and other departments attended the meeting.

Prof. Yang Huilin presided the meeting. He briefly noted the two consultative meetings held in July and the current preparatory work. He also passed the main suggestions given by Mr. Xu Lin from Hanban (the Office of Chinese Language Council International) when Xu was doing a survey in Renmin University of China. Prof. Wang Guiyuan, Head of the Preparatory Committee, together with six chief leaders of the Preparatory Groups reported on the preparatory work, their difficulties and challenges, as well as their needs for coordination with other departments and offices. All leaders present at the meeting expressed their willingness strongly to support the Conference. Vice President Xue Huanbai concluded the meeting, affirming the hard work and contribution of the Preparatory Committee. She encouraged all departments at RUC to work together so that the success of the Second World Conference on Sinology would be guaranteed.
