The Second Consultative Meeting on the Second World Conference on Sinology Is Held

On July 24, the Second Consultative Meeting on the 2nd World Conference on Sinology was held in Mingde Building. Scholars who attended the meeting included Prof. Fang Weigui (Beijing Normal University), Prof. Huang Zhuoyue (Beijing Language and Culture University), Prof. Li Xuetao (Beijing Foreign Studies University), Prof. Ren Dayuan (Graduate School of China Art Academy), and Prof. Zhang Guogang (Tsinghua University). On behalf of Renmin University of China, Vice President Prof. Yang Huilin, and professors from School of Liberal Arts, Prof. Wang Guiyuan, Prof. Wang Yan, Ms. Jin Haiying and Mr. Liu Xiuyan were at the meeting. 

With Prof. Wang Guiyuan presiding, Prof. Yang Huilin introduced the work of the  preparatory committee as well as the information of the first consultative meeting. Scholars and experts discussed the theme of “Special Forum for the Directors of Confucius Institutes”, the translation work for the Conference, panel topics, and the long-term system of inviting scholars for World Conference on Sinology. Scholars agreed that they would help the preparatory committee to select and make final decisions on the panel topics and the list of invitees.
