International Conference on the Exchange and Promotion of Chinese, Korean and Japanese Languages and Cultures opens in Seoul

The first ‘International Conference on the Exchange and Promotion of Chinese, Korean and Japanese Language and Culture’ opened on the 5th November 2008 in Seoul. The theme of the conference was ‘Strategies and Problems in disseminating the national languages of China, Korea and Japan.’ The Deputy Director of the Renmin University Institute for the Promotion of Chinese Language and Culture, Professor Yang Huilin attended the conference, together with Yang Jincheng, Divisional Head of the Hanban. Professor Yang gave a keynote lecture entitled "University institutions, government policies and the strength of language".
