Huilin Yang
Yang Huilin is a PhD from People’s University of China. Vice President of Renmin Univeristy of China; Professor of Comparative Studies of Literature and Religions; Member of the academic committee of China National Fund for Social Sciences (NFSS);Vice–President of China Comparative Literature Association (CCLA).
He has been promoting the interdisciplinary studies of Christianity, establishing the Institute for the Study of Christian Culture in People’s University of China in 1996, publishing the biannually refereed Journal for the Study of Christian Culture since 1998 and organizing the Summer Institute for the study of Theology and Humanities since 2003. He has published over ten books, including Sin and Atonement: on the Cultural Spirit of Christianity (1995), Quest for God: Faith vs. Reason (1999), Christian Background and Its Cultural Extension (2001), Theological Hermeneutics: Word of God & Words of Man (2002). The collection of his papers in English, Christianity in China: the Work of Yang Huilin, was published by M.E. Sharpe Ltd.(New York) in 2004, and his co-edited Sino-Christian Studies in China was published by Cambridge Scholars’ Press in 2006.
