Zhang Xiaohong, is a Professor, PhD Supervisor, and Director of the Institute of Chinese Historical Geography at Fudan University. Deputy editor-in-chief of Historical and Geography Research. She also serves as the director and secretary-general of the Professional Committee of Historical Geography of the Chinese Geographical Society, the deputy director of the Working Committee of Spatial Comprehensive Humanities and Social Sciences, the vice president of the Professional Committee of Historical Geography of the Chinese Historical Society, the vice president and secretary-general of the Shanghai Historical Society, the vice president of the Shanghai Geographical Society and other academic positions. As the ‌Chief Expert‌ of the Major Project under the ‌National Social Science Fund of China,her research focuses on historical geography and digital humanities‌.

She has led over 10 national and ministerial-level research projects, including those funded by the ‌National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC)‌, ‌National Social Science Fund‌, and the ‌Ministry of Education‌. Her representative Publications are‌: The Differentiation and Integration of Cultural Areas - Research on Shaanxi's Historical and Cultural Geography, Research on Environmental Evolution and Human Relations in China's Desert Areas in the Historical Period and Craftsman's Country: The Ancient Capital of Chinese History, etc., has published more than 80 academic papers in domestic and foreign journals such as SCI, SSCI and CSSCI.
